Description
The depth of intense varietal character along with high extract and deep rich flavors of Searby Chardonnay is what ARNS 2019 Chardonnay is all about. This could be the finest wine you have ever tasted. An unusual clone of old-world Chardonnay. Most of these older vines in our industry have been removed to make way for more modern cultivars. This has changed the profile of Chardonnay over the years leaving the industry with very standard tasting wines, lacking in true varietal character and higher extract. ARNS 2019 Chardonnay has texture and a richness that keeps you coming back for that second taste.
The 2019 marks our fifth Vintage from this site in the western hills of the Sonoma Coast, a stone’s throw from the Pacific Ocean. Foggy mornings and breezy afternoons keep the weather at a moderate and steady flow of summer heat allowing these vines to ripen slowly. This slow ripening pattern enhances the fruit filled core of the grapes concentrating the mango, lemon blossom and peach pit flavors. Harvesting in the middle of the night when the temperature drops to a moderate 56F captures all the essence of the fruit. With two plus years of aging in new French Oak Barrels, what remains is a concentrated, well integrated fruit forward wine that is elegantly well rounded. Wow your family and friends by pairing this wine with your favorite cheese, seafood (oysters!) and even deserts.
