“Robert Parker Review ” Score 92
“The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with an exciting array of super-black fruit, smoke, incense and tobacco. A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2009 is all raciness and flashiness. All of the elements are in the right place. This gorgeous wine captures the exuberance of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in spades. Anticipated Maturity: 2014 – 2024 “ WA92

2010 Celebrates Arns 7th Vintage of Arns Syrah from Melanson’s Vineyard.
It was a record cool growing season in The Napa Valley. This cooler growing season was out of the norm and required intensive vineyard management from pruning in the Spring through harvest in the Fall. It was a year when thoroughbred vineyard sites naturally rose to the top and offered great fruit. Below normal temperatures persisted throughout the Summer until August. August had the most raging heat spikes of 110F in many vineyards. Following a surprisingly cool early September, we harvested our Syrah on Pritchard Hill on September 29. The harvest ended October 22, with early rains and a change of season. The most compacted harvest on record.
This Syrah has floral dominated overtones with an undercurrent of power and intensity awaiting to explode in the bottle. This wine has true concentration and maintains a theme reminiscent of previous vintages – dynamic, intense, aromatic and alive with great balance and structure. There is a bond between 2005 vintage and 2010 both showing floral, pepper and sage elements with higher, brighter natural acidic overtones and lower alcohols prevailing.

2010 Vintage celebrates 18 years of continuous winemaking here at ARNS. We take great pride in our vineyards which are groomed by our viticulturist, John Arns. Our vineyard/winery sits just below Howell Mt in a unique micro-climate and geological profile. The individuality of this site has set the stage for our Cabernets unique distinct flavors of flint, tobacco, chocolate, black cherries, violets and anise. We are very pleased to follow our style and see consistency in flavor profiles over these years. We are elated with our 2011 and 2012 vintages that are showing the same complex aromas , buoyant mid palate and a hearty long, elegant finish. We treasure the longevity of our wines and are pleased with comments coming to us about the “amazing, great 1993′s, etc.”
“The great appeal of Arns Estate Grown Cabernet is its vivid purity of flavor. It is not necessarily a simple wine, but there’s not a box of trickery or gratuitous filigree involved – just a straight forward reflection of the power in their vineyards. Sandi Belcher talks about their wines saying, ‘we keep it pure and straight forward in a complex manner.” - excerpt from a letter of a fan

ARNS Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon Vertical
Past, Present & Future
Grapegrowing and winemaking is not for the faint at heart. We drop a great deal of crop on the ground each year so our remaining clusters will bring us the best our vineyard sites have to offer. Optimizing quality in our fruit has a vast array of challenges that go on daily until our vines are harvested.
We believe this offer of Arns Estate Grown Cabernet 2009, 2010 and 2011 is representative of three current years of high quality wines produced at ARNS. Each Vintage is very unique and it makes imbibing fun and stimulating. Most of all, it gives us something to talk about and something to look forward to as we drink the wines from our cellars and appreciate how they have aged. These mini verticals can give you a view of what the various years have to offer: one from the Past, one from the Present and one up and coming, Future.
